At the heart of our business lies a commitment to “Build Communities for Good” and it is this philosophy that informs every decision and drives every action taken by the group. For us, profit has a purpose: to provide funding streams to bankroll African community upliftment.

Accordingly, we are resolute in our refusal to invest in any asset or industry that is harmful to man or nature.

Our value proposition as we strive to continuously deliver innovative media and information solutions that facilitate beneficial human connection, is underpinned by a combination of factors:

  • The credibility and reputation of stakeholders
  • The manner in which we select and participate in good product markets
  • The ongoing pursuit of operational efficiencies, which enable continued value creation for shareholders
  • A consistent focus on high quality organic growth and prudent acquisitions, and
  • An unwavering commitment to protecting our reputational integrity.

In addition, we commit to honesty and openness in our dealings with consumers, suppliers and partners and we apply the highest standards of corporate governance. We believe that good business is ethical business.

Kagiso Media plays an active role in empowering previously disenfranchised South Africans through employment equity and management diversity, training and contributing to social investment programmes, human capital management and affirmative procurement policies.

As a Level 2 BBBEE contributor in terms of the DTI scorecard, the Kagiso Media Group is committed to the principles of BBBEE and has developed the necessary reporting processes and created the relevant focus and awareness in order to achieve its targets in line with regulatory and shareholder expectations.

In line with the B-BBEE Codes, it is our practice to pay Black-owned SMME’s under R5m annual turnover within 15 days of presentation of invoice and submission of a valid BEE certificate.

Our vision is to be a content creator and aggregator, located around high demand and unmet themes, reaching all Africans on the continent and in the diaspora, through every access point, on any device. We aim to achieve this by working with partners, who have the same values as Kagiso Media, to create and distribute authentic African stories for Africa and the rest of the world.

As we continue to shift from an investment company geared primarily towards the radio broadcasting sector to a group of companies with strong capabilities in the new media, information and marketing spaces, we aim to:

  • Position ourselves as a new South African black-owned media company with a culture that is alive, vibrant and progressive
  • Become a significant player in the media space in both South Africa and Africa
  • Ensure that our business remains relevant, and
  • Continually enhance the value of our enterprise.

In all of the above, we are committed to the consolidation of strong ethical values and governance principles as a sound operating platform for the entire group.
